FEATURING

Your Headliner: Tamara Shevon

Tamara Shevon is a Toronto-based comic who started her comedic story-telling through wine-coloured glasses in Bejing, China. Since then, she has been blazing through the Toronto scene with her characteristic wit and her lovable ability to flirt with the boundaries of socially acceptable. Tamara produces and hosts the very popular SOS Comedy Show. Tamara has performed stand-up all over China, Canada, and the United States and was second runner-up in the Beijing Improv Comedy Festival. More recently, Tamara has performed at NXNE and JFL42. In 2018, Tamara toured across Ontario with Shawna Edward for the Irritable & Confused Comedy Tour where she was the only black person at each stop. If this wasn’t obvious enough already, Tamara wrote this bio herself which is why she sounds so awesome.

Your Feature: Jesse Singh

Originally based out of Toronto, Jesse has also performed on stages across North America. More notably, you may have seen him in the Just for Laughs Festival or in the Semi Finals of the Devil Cup Comedy Festival in NYC. His material can range anywhere from discussing everyday life, what it’s like growing up in an immigrant household, & addressing the issue of people who pour their milk before their cereal. In any case, he can adapt to the raunchiest of crowds to keeping it strictly professional with corporate clean material.

Your Opener: Matt Davis

Newcomer & local comic Matt Davis has been wowing crowds with his honest & free flow comedy. He shares observations about the world as well as himself that are cuttingly personal but at the same time incredibly hilarious. Keep your eye on this guy, he’s got big things coming his way in the world of comedy.

Your Hosts: Kelly Kreye & Joel van Vliet

After stumbling upon The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Kelly caught the comedy bug immediately and began doing stand up as well, you could literally find him on stage every night of the week. 15 years later (5 of which he toured around the country living out of his 84 VW van), he’s performed in pretty much every city and town across the U.S. and Canada. He’s opened for Dave Attell, Todd Barry, Mark Normand, Sean Rouse, Jim Gaffigan, and many others. He’s performed at The U.C.B. Theatre, The Magnet Theater, and The People’s Improv Theatre, and many, many comedy festivals. From long form improv, to sketch writing, to doing stand up, to teasing the girls he has crushes on Kelly shares his unique perspective by bringing high energy, quick wit, and strong jokes to every performance.

Joel has been writing bios about himself in the 3rd person for the last 20 years. The first decade was dedicated to failing as a singer/songwriter, but for the last decade, he has made a valiant effort to fail as a comedian. If variety is the spice of life, Joel’s comedy could start another war over the spice trade (he’s that spicy in that he offers a lot of variety). From the absurd to the subversive, the silly to the blue, you never know exactly what Joel is going to say, or sing (with his sweet, smooth voice), but you can be sure, whatever it is, it’s going to get a little weird.
