Pizza – it might be the ultimate relaxation food. It kinda makes you want to sit back with a few slices, sip on a pop (or some other cold beverage) and chill.

It’s not just pizza that seems like such an informal meal – maybe it’s the setting inside the restaurant, but spaghetti and other pasta-based dishes just cry out for you to take it easy and enjoy yourself.

Boston Pizza, inside the Americana resort on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls, has that all figured out.

Take a look at their calendar for February, for example. There’s a little something extra special going on pretty much every night of the month.

Feb. 11? National Make a Friend Day.

Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14? That’s Heart-Shaped Pizza Day, of course.

What could possibly be going on there on Friday, Feb. 22, you ask? How about National Margarita Day.

Feb. 24? National Tortilla Chip Day – who would have thought?

Then there are all the other nights, where the numerous big screen TVs will be showing either a Toronto Maple Leafs or Toronto Raptors game, along with the usual kitchen and bar specials.

Friday nights also feature live entertainment from performers like Anthony Abbruscato, Brad Battle and Midnight Sons.

The setting inside Boston Pizza is designed to put you at ease. Kick back, enjoy good conversation along with a great meal, and settle in for the entertainment.

That motif is all in keeping with the Americana resort itself, which also boasts a spa and exercise room, plus other dining options like Lulu’s Cafe, Fields Bistro and Gathering Place, and the Oasis Pizza and Snack Bar.

And then there is the giant indoor waterpark that makes up a good part of the resort. It’s available for parties or just for travellers and families to take advantage of, with its giant water drops, waves and slides.

It’s one of the big stops on the Niagara Falls map – which is saying a lot because this is probably the busiest tourist city in Canada.

The best way to start it is with a stop at Boston Pizza, though, because there’s always something going on there.
